Hello... I'm starting a home telemarketing job next week and it requires a headset so i got myself a Logitech H110. (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-981-...d=1440289624&sr=8-6&keywords=logitech+headset) I then acquired a Onn Headphone Splitter (ONN Headphone Audio Splitter, 1', Black - Walmart.com) due to my Lenovo z510 laptop only having a headphone jack and the Logitech headset requiring both headphone and microphone jack.
But my problem lies in using the headset with Windows 8.1. Is it normal when using a headset to hear feedback; as in hearing your voice in the headphones half a second after you speak into the microphone? When I got the headset and splitter i first tried seeing if it worked properly by using the SoundRecorder program to record my voice but it wasn't hearing or recording anything.
I then discovered that I must enable the microphone in the sound settings. (https://i.imgur.com/TuBXIKS.jpg) I was then able to hear & record my voice but the problem is that I can hear it on a delay thru the headphone speakers about half a second after i speak, which automatically makes... me... start... to... speak... like... this... as I imagine my brain is trying to calibrate or get used to hearing myself on a slight delay. You can picture the difficulty I could run into when speaking to a client with a robotic type of speaking.
So i'm wondering if i'm missing some sort of setting that would allow me to properly use the headset without hearing myself on a delay. Could it possibly be due to the headset or splitter interfering with settings somehow?
NOTE: I posted this question to reddit (link below) and followed the advice given but have had no luck resolving the problem, so I thought I'd ask here as well.

Sorry for the text-wall but I'm just trying to be as thorough as possible.
