Download on PC slows xbox

So I have known for a while that downloading large files on your PC often affects multiplayer gameplay on the xbox (and various other things). Today I got civillization 5, and was trying to play COD, all during and for sometime after, the lag was tremendous. This is because of the download right? I never lag that bad, and when I do lag it's because of the host. So it must be the download right?

well when you're playing multiplayer you're streaming your information to and from the host/server and when you're also downloading that cuts into your available bandwidth so yes downloading files will cause you to lag.
