I am transferring files that are between 3 and 9 gigs. I am also using Win 7 RC on the HTPC, could that have anything to do with it? I can select 1000 full duplex on my desktop, but the option is not available in the nvidia control panel on the HTPC (nVidia chipset).

Are you sure you actually downloaded the newer version of the bios and not just the flash utility?

When you say you dont have ports, you mean they are all used up? How much ram do you have now? You can replace your old ram with newer modules.

Set your boot option to cd first (in the bios), put in your xp cd, and reboot. When it asks to push a key to boot off cd, push a key and fallow instructions to install.

Run your pc in barebones, and clear your cmos (just use the jumper).
