first off, sorry if this sonds dumb but... What is aa and af (what does it stand for)? and how would it improve my games? i got a 6800 btw.

it could easily be a 4x, and the graphics card would still work in it, and probally be just as good.

My newly built pc sometimes goes into a loop when i turn it on. I press the button it would go to the screen, where it says abit, press delete to go into bios etc. and it would restart. also, at my school the pc's have a xp pro coa number on the side, and i think it is unused because they have 2000 professional on all the pc's (unless if someone else had the same idea as me). would that be better than shouting at some person who probally wouldn't understand what im saying.

its not a 30 day trial, it was on my other pc for about a week, than i got annoyed with the slowness, so i formatted it.

I have just got my new pc working, and it keeps on saying "30 days left for activation." when i put my coa number in there, it would go away but 5 minutes later it comes back, how do i get it to go away for good? I'm not using my XP Pro cd, but my coa number that came with mine.

mine's not too bad (and i got a 6800 and the amd 64 3000 939) but then again, i have only had it running for less than 10 seconds at a time so far :( also im not too bothered about it being completely silent, but I have never been bothered about having a silent case.

the motherboard manual says for dual channel memory put them in dimm1 and dimm2, which was what i had them in, but the clips on either side of the ram slot are not clipping the ram into place. EDIT: I booted up the pc with no ram in it, and it makes the same beeeep bbb noise. Does this mean...

I haven't even got into the bios, so I haven't overclocked yet, I was going to save that for a rainy day, i just want the pc up and running first :(

I was looking at that a bit, but i can't remember what the number was. I will say what it is as well in the book. I will look at it when i put the pc back together.

I don't have onboard graphics so i had to leave that in. I have stripped it down to what i can e.g. take out the other stick of ram that was in dual channel. I did notice the u guru clock had 2244mhz on it when i have a amd 3000 socket 939.

i forgot about the graphics card power connector...Now it goes on for about 3 seconds with no beep, but then I get a 4 beep thing, the 1st long (about 2 seconds) and the other 3 quick. Then it shuts down. also my motherboard is the av8 3rd eye.

i have just turned my first self built pc on and i get one very long beep, and towards the end of it there is also another 4 beeps under neath ( 1 lasting a second or so with 3 quick ones after). Then the origanal long one goes up in pitch and it turns its self off...what does this mean?

I'm finding it a very daunting at the moment (as i got mine laying on the dining room table with it all in its boxes on top of the anti static mat thing that i got from my school. But i think it would give me a great sence of achievment when it's built, as i have been waiting 6 months to get...
