king , check for software firewalls like zonelabs or norton internet security , both will block requests inside a network that would otherwise work fine

does comet have a software firewall of anykind running on it? if so try turning it off then see if it can surf or talk to the others. i've seen this same senerio played out a couple times and its always been zonelabs or something simular.

not sure if the xbox will connect thru it but @ www.analogx.com is a small, simple proxy program that can be installed on the "server" machine , then ,with all others connected thru the hub and ip's set static with the correct info you can put as many pc's as you can afford as you want...

try http://www.realvnc.com/ they offer a free (minimal features) version that works well across networks behind routers. worked well for me
