    Sub killed my comp

There seems to be some truth to Chris says... this taken from a Myth Busting-type website: The same goes for hard drives. The only magnets powerful enough to scrub data from a drive platter are laboratory degaussers or those used by government agencies to wipe bits off media. "In the real...

    Celeron - need help.

hmm, not sure what a scratch disk is... I just meant, moving your paging file to another HD - if you have one that isn't cluttered up with a bunch of stuff like your primary OS drive is. That way, the page file can be accessed quicker.. theoretically.

    Sub killed my comp

Yeah, I had a similar problem, just ran a chkdsk at bootup and win fixed the bad sectors. Now if I could just get rid of this discoloration on my monitor...

    Swap this

Ok, I did a search for "swap file"under the Linux threads and, naturally, I got a lot of threads. I didn't look through them all. But, what I'd like to know - considering that I'm not an experienced linux user - is do I need a swap file? Normally, I would just go ahead and add it and be done...

    speed of light slowed down

IBM didn't do it.. a Russian physist did it a long time ago. He was able to determine that the speed of light varies with its environment/medium. He was able to actually speed electrons past the speed of light... the speed of light as it travels through water anyways. Light actually has...

    Battlefield 2 + Special Forces

Yeah, he's right you have to repatch after you install SF. Problem is, I did, but I'm still getting weird usage problems with the game crashing and what not. Many people are getting the same problems in my clan, so atleast I know its most likely the game and not my hardware.

    Two Questions...

Did you receive a driver disc with your MB? That should include the RAID drivers you need. When you install Windows for the first time it will say something like "press F7 or F8" or something" to install 3rd party SATA drivers. Also, you need to make sure that SATA and RAID are both enabled in...

    Zalman fan install

Just take some tweezers and push in the sides that flare out and push up. The tension in the springs should do the rest. Also, make sure the mounting bracket screws have been removed.
