Well that's exactly the point, I was overclocking it moderately using the manufacturers own tweaking hardware, so for it to get fried it must have been defective from the get go, which is why I'm probably going to get a new one.
The only thing I did is go into the GPUTweak software (from Asus)...
Ok, so I've now managed to fry my 780 Ti in an attempt at overclocking....
On the brightside, I'm probably getting a new one for free as my overclocking was well within "normal use" so it should be counted as a defect of the card. Another thing is that when I turned it in, the guy who was there...
Well. I opened it up and checked, and I had red slots, but I only have 2, not 3. Does this mean I don't have SLI, or just that my limit is 2 cards instead of 3?
I snapped a pic of how it looks in there.
What 3 slots are you talking about? I'll open the comp and take a look tomorrow, what will be the "giveaway" I should look for to see if I have SLI or not?
I think I average about 110-120 when playing TDM with settings on Ultra.
I don't have vsync on, and no I don't *need* 144, I'd just like to get as much as I can. The smoother it runs, the quicker I can turn without getting any blur and the faster I can spot people when comming around corners...
****, really? So I'm stuck with one graphics card? Well that blows....
Yeah it works well for most games, but when I play competitive multiplayer shooters, I want as high a framerate as possible, and with a 144hz screen, there are more frames to be picked up as I tend between 110 and 130...
Well, it was a custom build, and we specifically went with a better than standard PSU, so it should be up to snuff.
Here are the specs:
ASRock*Z97*Fatal1ty*Killer*-*Socket*1150
Intel*Core*i7-4790K
Kingston*DDR3*HyperX*1600MHz*8GB
BenQ*27"*3D*LED*XL2720Z
Fortron*AURUM*PRO,*850W,*80*GOLD...
I have no idea what PSU is, is that the power supply? I don't know what I have, but I specifically asked them to put a little extra juice in the power, motherboard, cooling and processor so that I would have room for upgrades, including a second graphics card, so I'm assuming I'll be allright...
I just got into computer gaming and got my first gaming computer about 2 months ago. When I look it up on my system it just says Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 Ti, but the orderform from where I got the system says ASUS*GeForce*GTX*780Ti*3GB*PhysX CUDA
Now with the new 980 on the market, people are...
