System speaker installed, no beeps. Reset CMOS, no beeps. Tried every angle the speaker can be plugged in, no beeps. So the rest of my evening will be spent digging his rig out of the case and breadboarding it to test for a case-to-MB short. If anyone has suggestions I haven't thought of here...

So apparently the ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0 he is using doesn't even have an integrated speaker for POST beeps. Time to go hunting for a speaker in my box of misc. computer junk. *Edit - 3hrs later I'm amazed how hard it is to track down a MB speaker from any local stores.
