I had this problem and was told its most likely, HEAT, PSU, or bad MOBO, or MOBO shorting out on the case. Not sure what it was, I simply reinstalled all my pc hardware, cleaned the fans and case filter / screen, applied new thermal paste to the cpu cooler and moved the wires to promote...

Been pretty stagnant since its a complete grind now. The implementation of trainer battles should revive the game for many, myself included.
