Laptops that support 16 GB memory modules

Hi, I'm currently shopping for a laptop that has an active digitizer as well as 16 GB memory support. There was only one model I found that supported this, the Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 15. Turns out now the model with the active digitizer won't be produced for a while and instead we have the...

    Modern Skylake gaming build

I'll go with you on the Seasonic. I always hear great things about the brand. Just thought the one I linked wasn't considered "budget" considering it's made by FSP. Don't want to take chances in that department though. Your heat vs power argument makes sense, though I'm finding it hard to...

    Modern Skylake gaming build

I've seen the benchmarks for the GTX970 vs the 390. The latter wins in most cases, especially on high resolution gaming which I intend to do (1440p). I'd need to hear good arguments to change my mind. I would consider another PSU if you think I should. Is 450W really too little these days? I've...

    Modern Skylake gaming build

Hey guys, it's been a while. I'm on the market for a new pc that must handle some gaming, Photoshop, web development (IntelliJ) and the like. It'll be running Windows 10. I think I want a build that supports the latest standards (Skylake architecture, DDR4, PCI-e SSD, USB 3.1 Type C). I'm...

Noob needs URGENT help with system..From UK

Make sure you don't forget the power supply and a hard drive (if you're not using old components for this). The second system is hard to beat for the money, though there are cheaper motherboards available like the Gigabytes.

A change of heart. CPU: Intel Core i5 750 - 166 euros I compared a few benchmarks that showed the i5 750 is slightly better than the Phenom II X4 965 I had been eyeing. Another review also confirms that this cpu is considerably better at video editing (which along with photo editing will be one...

I'm not going to order anything outside the Netherlands due to warranty. I just want to have a physical address to go to when I've got problems. Should I just get the cheapest OCZ Platinum 1066 MHz memory for 96 euros or splash out for the 1866 MHz ones? (141 euros). It would run 1:1 with the FSB.

Thanks for the comments! Considering the cases mentioned - I do like the Antec cases since I currently have an Antec Solo that is good quality. As for the PSU - I'm sure it will suffice, really. I rarely go over 300W with my power and manufacturers are generous with their minimum requirements...

Like I said, I'm not into overclocking. Don't want to have to bother with timings, voltages and temperatures. I take it the 945/955/965 all have the same chips but the ones that made the 965 came out better in stress tests than the other cpu's? In which case spending a few extra tenners on a cpu...

Hi, good to see this place is still running after I went here for help on my new build at the time - three years ago. Because my current pc is getting a bit lazy and there are all sorts of things wrong with it, I'm looking to upgrade. The pc should be optimised for the following tasks: - Gaming...

    Internet pages often don't load

Hello, I have looked for solutions in similarly titled threads but none of the problems seemed to be the same as mine. So here goes. This is a problem that started a couple of days ago. My browsers are having problems loading internet pages. Sometimes pages will load no problems, but more...

    Microphone amplifiers

Does anyone know a program to boost the microphone volume real-time? With my ADI1988 onboard chip I had no problems. When I installed an X-fi XtremeAudio it suddenly became very soft. Then I installed a Club3D Theatron DD and it was slightly better, but still very soft. Turned mic boost on...

Zalman VF900-Cu weird fit on 7900GT

Encouraged by the positive sounds I went on to just do it. Found out there was a little more space than I'd thought between the heatsinks and the heatpipe, enough to fit a cable. However the awkward positioning did make me knock off some of the heatsinks here and there. Even when I was ready to...
