I have my headphones plugged into the front panel of my case (next to the power button I have a 1/8" jack). This has provided the cleanest audio.
The speakers I have plugged into the motherboard in back. That is the plug I have an issue with.
It's a constant high pitch frequency hum. Not a super loud sound but more of an ambient effect that is really only noticeable when nothing is being played on the device plugged in.
Looking for suggestions on a new monitor configuration as I currently have quad monitors that take up a ton of space on my desk.

Finally solved this problem after doing a ton more digging around.
The problem was I had my speakers configured for 7.1 Surround accidentally instead of Stereo (they are 2.1 speakers) which resulted in the audio not coming out properly which is why sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't...
I apologize for not responding for some time but I have been testing to see if this resolved the issue and so far the computer hasn't turned itself back on in several weeks. Thanks for the suggestions hoping they continue to work!
I am expecting it to come out of speakers as it is selected.
The Audigy SE sound card is currently running

Just turned off all of the options for wake on LAN in my network card. Thanks for the idea and I'll see if that resolves the issue. Would the Bios have it's own set or would they be one in the same?

My computer keeps turning itself back on at random times and can't seem to figure out how to keep it off.
Sometimes it turns back on right after shut down, other times it turns on in the middle of the night.
I know windows can push updates this way but I would think it would be the same time...
