Opinion on buying i5 and i7 dual core laptops

Terrible idea to buy one of these now. Wait for 8th gen mobile CPUs to come out, because they're not far away, and they'll ALL be true quad cores.

    Two Factor Authentication Solutions

I'm gonna revive this thread because why the fek not, and recommend smart cards. It's the same thing banks use when authorising deposits and withdrawls (at least in Australia).

    Semi-Basic Mining Build

no. It's an insurance policy in case things go to ****. Would rather not drop $1.7k on a project that *could* not end up paying what it's forecast to.

    Semi-Basic Mining Build

Yeah I know. I won't be starting this project until I have a casual job, because then if this goes belly up for whatever reason, I won't lose money I can't earn back. But yeah, the fact that I could easily whack in another 1080Ti and double the income is a major bonus. The whole thing scales...

    Bitcoin 2018

But, if bitcoin dies, the other coins, such as Monero that are more privacy based, will surge in popularity. It's a win for miners either way lol.

    Semi-Basic Mining Build

I don't have to pay for power, and I've got a portable AC unit that's rated to cool 30 m^2, and it's cooling about half that space. The room stays a chilly 24C. Which for aussie summers, is ****ing brilliant xD As for getting the GPUs, it's not too hard to get 1070s over here because there's a...

    Semi-Basic Mining Build

Ok, so after doing some research and speaking to a few guys in the aussie PC groups on facebook, I'm seriously considering whipping together a basic mining rig. 1-2 GPUs, nothing stupidly expensive or noisy. I've got a CPU, RAM, and LGA 1150 mobo from my Haswell system still lying around in a...

    CPU Recommendations

Can I please point out, that from all the reviews I've read, it's perfectly acceptable to OC on a wraith spire fan. There's one other factor that I'd like to get water cooling for, and that's the coolness factor xD AIOs in general look way better than a big fat heat sink with some fans on it imho.

    CPU Recommendations

The only real factor that seems to be a benefit then is the noise factor. 2 120mm fans running at 1300 RPM is going to be a ****ton quieter than the stock fan running at 2500 RPM.

    I'm done with EA. Period.

Hardcore is rather unforgiving if you **** up lol.

    CPU Recommendations

Is it worth doing simply for the chip's longevity?

    CPU Recommendations

Managed to OC the 1600 to 3.7 GHz @ 1.33V. Haven't tried lowering the voltage since *technically* this OC still runs a bit hot during stress testing. However, even during long Adobe Premiere Pro encodes, it won't hit above 75. It runs cinebench with no issues, and it runs Prime95 with no issues...

    Whats happening with the Forums.

Why not just build a whole new site from scratch? I mean sure we'd lose a ton of thread history and whatnot, but if it's truly as bad as you say, then a clean slate certainly wouldn't be a bad idea.

    I'm done with EA. Period.

BF4 was great for me. I had so many hilarious moments in that game I don't even know where to begin. I started out on Console in late 2013 early 2014, and then moved up to PC in mid 2015. Luckily for me, FPSG has kept the aussie BF4 server community alive by hosting dedicated servers. They're...

    Hi, My Name is Vestige

Would recommend posting this in the appropriate section, and naming the thread something a bit more descriptive of your issue. You're incredibly lucky I clicked on this, because I don't normally read this section of the forums lol. Would recommend the hardware section :)
