Also There seems to be a smaller version of this card here: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti Superclocked 2GB Video Card 02G-P4-3753-KR G-SYNC Support 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 - Newegg.com
I'm looking to get a noticeable upgrade from my HD 5770. The card has done me well, but it's time for an upgrade as I'm getting more and more into game modification.
I like Radeon, it's done me well. Somewhat user friendly. However I'm ready to try something new.
The card I've been eyeing is...
Why is this card better than the 7790?
The 7790 has a higher core clock, higher memory clock... the only difference I'm seeing is the memory interface. Will this really make a huge difference after price is taken into account?
I can get the 7790 for $129 (currently for the 2GB version), this...
My current setup:
AMD Phenom II 965 BE
ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO
HIS Radeon HD 5770
G.SKILL Sniper 8GB 1333
OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W
Resolution = 1440 x 900
I'm currently browsing around for an upgrade to my HD 5770. I believe my other components will still be up to par. I want a noticeable upgrade...
Is there a write-up floating around for this manual tweaking? There's a list of acronyms under RAM in my BIOS I have no idea what they mean. I tried to change a few and ended up having to pull my CMOS battery because my machine wouldn't boot into BIOS. No fun.
Stupid on me... Just remembered I'm running G Skill Snipers in this machine, not Ripjaws. Don't think it will really make a difference. Still DDR3 1333 Meh.
The max voltage afterburner will allow is 1.35v maybe I should dip into my BIOS... or do you think I wouldn't hit 1GHz with this GPU... I mean, its not even getting hot with the Kombustor test.... like 51c max on the GPU so far.
Just dl`d afterburner. I figured it had something to do with voltage. Running some tests on it currently at 1.27v ive been able to max my core clock now without it failing.
Speaking about gaming, im going to thread Jack my own thread... im running a 5770, I can only hit about 915MHz before the card crashes. The temps are only hitting 63c when this happens. Any thoughts?
