    HP Deskjet 930C and Windows 7 64-Bit

I used Windows update to solve this. When adding the printer click "Windows Update" when the driver selection window shows up then select HP then DeskJet 930C.

    New Computer- What now?

Yeah, a P4 still has some use, but upper-level gaming is going to need more than one core. But, you get what you pay for. I would throw in a more modern graphics card, no less than a 5-series Radeon. In addition to that, another 2GB of RAM at minimal. There was never, ever a per-say "dual...

    OS not recognizing drivers?

Make sure that they're 64-bit drivers. That is very weird though as never have I ever had a Windows Vista 32 or 64 install need a driver for an optical drive.

    HP Deskjet 930C and Windows 7 64-Bit

Hello! Here at my workplace today, I upgraded a user's machine. The new machine has Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (on the company domain). He has a Deskjet 930C Printer he uses faithfully. To my shock, Windows could not find a driver. I went to HP's site and was unable to find a driver. It...

    The HP TouchPad webOS Tablet...

What do you all think about it? From what I've seen of it, it's an (but not) iPad killer. I mean, it just looks fun to use and very intuitive in terms of everyday use. Providing they go easy on the price it will be on my table not long after release.

I am going to order a DMS-59 to VGA cable and just do away with the adapter. So we shall see after that.

Dell Dimension 2400 and Visiontek X1300 Video Card

No Post Codes, there is HD activity (Windows Vista Business OS). Nope, BIOS is freshly flashed with the Integrated Option set to "Auto" as this computer does not have the "Off/Disable" option. And I'm pretty sure as Windows Installed the drivers successfully. (Checked using Integrated adapter).

Dell Dimension 2400 and Visiontek X1300 Video Card

So I decided to beef up the 2400 in hopes I can get a couple more years out of it. I bought a Visiontek X1300 DMS-59 Video Card and now that I got it in, I get nothing at all. I have the latest BIOS update from Dell and the Integrated option set to "Auto" as there is no disable option. I have...

hard drive acess is stupid slow

That definitely isn't normal for sure. But it seems that the CPU is making a lot of requests to the hard drive. Prescott P4's are notorious for outrageous temperatures, partially due to a lot of requests. Similar to how the first generation Celerons were, Oh, I can still hear the long and...

    Networking a 64-bit to a 32-bit?

As far as 64-bit and 32-bit interoperability, it will work fine as long as you intend to just share pictures, videos, documents, and other media on the network. If you are planning to share actual applications on the network then you need to check and ensure that the applications will work back...

File required from XP professional disc, CD drive not responding.

From my experience considering the age of the computer, it sounds like the drive is done. A good way to test this theory is to get any old bootable cd you know works, even bum from a friend and try it. But yea, I would say the cd drive is toast considering it first couldn't find a file then it...

Vista registry cleaner ... for freeze or hang up,

Just throwing out another option, a capacitor(s) could also be bad on the motherboard. Usually if it is a capacitor though it is froze indefinitely until you perform a hard reset (IE: Hold power button). Examine your motherboard for a capacitor that appears to be bulged or leaking. Here is a...
