I ran through that process twice, restarted, and I am still having problems with programs crashing/freezing. SuperAnti-Spyware is also consistently finding malicious items in cookies.
Btw my setup is a dell desktop with a celeron processor, with XP Home.
Malwarebytes came back with nothing, CCLeaner cleaned about 80MB worth of temp internet files.
When i ran sfc/scannow, I received a "Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions. To maintain system stability, Windows must restore the original...
Thanks for the quick response. That log checker came up with all green check marks.
The problem I'm having is certain programs crashing upon starting them, as well as SuperAnti-Spyware detecting multiple infections every day... Can't figure out the source of this.

I have never bought one from a company before, I have always built them. I do not want a Dell, because those computers are headaches from the beginning. The use for this computer will be business/work, I don't need advice on computer internals or anything...
I just bought the ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005HA-PU1X-BK with a CORSAIR 2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 of RAM. I installed the RAM, booted fine, but i noticed the PC ran sluggishly. I downloaded and ran CPUZ and noticed my CPU was idling at around 800MHZ.... I figured i had the wrong ram speed...
it's not a problem with BIOS because i can use my USB keyboard to get into BIOS. And replugging in doesn't work, that's the first thing i tried. PS2 keyboard works in windows though, i just don't have a mouse. I need to uninstall the pnp USB drivers and see if that detects them again.
i just did a fresh install of XP 64 on my rig, installed the CD that came with the mobo for network and various other drivers, restarted my PC and now my keyboard and mouse don't work at all once windows is loaded. did the same thing in safe mode. how do i fix this?
