Chrome Usage Steadily Increasing - cnet.com

I switched to Chrome solely because it was lighter than Firefox in terms of memory usage. But now that I've upgraded my laptop to 4GB of RAM I'm considering switching back. Chrome is a good all around browser but there are just a few little things that annoy me, like not being able to right...

could be my new car, your thoughts please

Because I can drive my car in any RPM range that I want. This also lets me squeeze out some great gas mileage when puttin' around town.

That's why he should try to pictures of the damage and the records from when it was repaired. I drive a 20 year old 1.8 liter but since it's a stick I rarely ever feel like I'm lacking on power. You can better take advantage of the small, peaky engine. Plus it's just a lot of fun to row it...

    Try my random wallpaper script!

Well it's not a big concern to me but feel free to mess with it. I'm sure you can see lines 33 and 39 are where lynx grabs the web page and downloads the .jpg.

    Try my random wallpaper script!

Nice! Thanks for testing it. I think I remember trying to use wget originally but it had problems grabbing the web page since Interfacelift uses PHP.

    Try my random wallpaper script!

I may have posted this ages ago but I've made some improvements since. It's a script to download a random wallpaper off of interfacelift.com at a user defined interval and set it as the background. It requires lynx (run "sudo apt-get install lynx" on Ubuntu). And make sure to set your...

Still, driving a stick is just a better experience. Even if I ever bought a pickup truck I'd probably still get a stick. You just have more control over your vehicle. The only time I ever wish I had an auto is when I'm stuck in traffic. I suppose if you just want a car to use as a tool for...

could be my new car, your thoughts please

If you enjoy driving then find yourself a 5-speed! If I were you I'd spend $2500 on a nice '85-'91 BMW 3-series (e30) and use the other $1100 for maintenance and other items. But that's me. I like corners more than straight lines.

Find out what the damage was and try to get pictures of it if possible. And obviously get it professionally inspected before purchasing. I'd be wary of buying a newish car with a salvage title. But you left out the most important part, how much is he asking?

    Question

Yeah, on Windows you can install Windowblinds or whatever if you want to eat up some extra RAM, but on Linux you have the option to install a whole other window manager.

PS3 in Car for long trip.

Cigarette lighter power is going to be the same as direct battery power, no? I figure if you haven't blown the fuse then you haven't drawn the max amount of current through the cigarette lighter circuit. Edit: Noooooo, necropost! Haha, sorry. It happens to the best of us. In my defense a...

    Question

I booted up my Linux box a few weeks ago after using my Macbook exclusively for about a year and it made me once again realize how awesome Linux is. It runs just as fast as the day I installed it. It's running on hardware that's about eight years old, yet it boots up about as fast as Snow...

    Help me forward port 80

I feel dumb. It was bringing up the modem login because I was trying to connect to my external IP while on the local network. I walked down the street with my laptop and it worked just fine on a neighbor's WiFi :D

    Help me forward port 80

Hey. I haven't posted on here in a while  But now I'm stumped... I set up an Apache server and it's accessible on the LAN, and I also got set up with DynDNS. Whenever I load my DynDNS site, however, it brings up the login box for my Actiontec DSL modem. I've already disabled remote...
