Yea, that was what I thought when I first posted this. I figured I'd just ask and see if anyone had any other solutions before I junked it. I'm having a hard time backing up my files right now because it disconnects after I transfer like, 700 mb of data.

Ok, i've updated all my drivers. I switched the cable again, made sure it was a straight as humanly possible, tried plugging it into a different SATA port in my motherboard, and it still happens. I can make it happen every time when I try to defragment the hard drive. Any other suggestions?
