    The big reveal!

Not only have AMD reinvented their CPUs and public image, they also appear to have reinvented the wheel when it comes to actually installing them! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zyik-vSfvwo

Purchase ink refill kit or buy new cartridge

My opinion? I'd put it on ebay and buy a good laser MFP. Even if you end up buying used, your toner costs will be exponentially lower than your ink costs and over a couple years a laser printer will pay for it's self in savings versus inkjet cartridges!

    I browsed the members list

Same, like we said before I think the forum model in general is something that's on it's way out. I blame Youtubers and Google for removing the need for a good ole tech forum/community :pcmad:

    Gaming build help

I'll adjust my wording there, it does support Dual GPUs... it's just really pointless and not recommended :P

    Gaming build help

Prices are more or less in the order of:- A320 (Lowest end AM4 Chipset) - $50-£80 B350 (Mid Range) - $60-£130 X370 (High End) - $80-£280 (Lifted from Newegg US) Main differences are:- A series: Does not support overclocking, limited SATA and USB ports. B Series: supports overclocking, but...

    The big reveal!

That's one thing I will say on nomenclature.. God only knows why they gave their SERVER CPUs a really Gamery name like 'EPYC'. If it stood for something I guess I could let it slide... but as far as I know it doesn't and people just refer to it as EPYC and pronounce it as 'EPIC'. I think...

    Gaming build help

At launch, Ryzen had problems with memory compatibility and overclocking. Most manufacturers have released a bundle of BIOS updates and microcode hotfixes since launch - they've also got a lot more 'Ryzen compliant' memory now. some thing's I'll say about Ryzen:- 1. Make sure you update the...

    Gaming build help

I'd go for a Ryzen CPU, probably a Ryzen 5 1600, and divert any money you save towards going one level up on the GPU. Intel stuff stays expensive for ages, I mean Sandy bridge CPUs are still a hundred bones on ebay and they're 6 years old. Ryzen 5 trades blows with the i5 and even the i7 in...

    The big reveal!

While it is true that Intel tends to beat AMD on single-core performance and IPC, most people who would buy a higher end CPU usually have some reason to - almost all productivity workloads really love more threads and most games these days are doing well at using multiple cores. AMD are playing...

    Inexplicable hitching in all games.

Are you monitoring temps? What you're experiencing is what reviewers will call the '0.1% Low' framerate. Essentially, if you're pulling a fairly consistent say, 100fps, and for one or two frame loads the rate drops to say, 40fps, you'll notice a big stutter, before it returns to 100fps and...

    Budget Gaming ( sub 100$)

Q6600 is a fully fledged quad core, albeit an old one. If you ever watched LTT or Tech YES City on Youtube they make a lot of videos about reusing old stuff. a Q6600 is the beating heart of a lot of the 'scrapyard' builds you see on YT, because its a proper quad and they are usually dirt cheap...

    The big reveal!

The official AMD video shows the 12 core (1920X) out-ranking an i9-7900X in a Cinebench R15 benchmark test. That's the lesser of the two chips as well, the other being the 16 core which in a multi-threaded test would surely score even better! Essentially, AMD's $799 chip is making Intel's $1000...

    Buy or build?

Clearly, given that you have spec'd two 1080Tis - you're not really interested in good price to performance... and instead just want the best performance that you can get in the enthusiast market. Wait a bit, and buy AMD Threadripper. 12 or 16 cores and it minces Intel's fastest desktop CPU in...

    The big reveal!

To finally end some of the speculation, yesterday AMD finally made an official announcement about Threadripper! https://www.overclock3d.net/news/cpu_mainboard/amd_reveals_ryzen_threadripper_s_pricing_and_specifications/1 Personally I hope they fill the two gaps in that lineup and make 10 and...

    Computer Not Booting

It just seems to fit that his GPUs were having some real problems letting him adjust voltage, then when swapping the cards around to sort a firmware issue it suddenly bricks the board  could be ESD like you say, we'll probably never know! Also, heat melts metal? illimunati confirmed...
