Some how my wife got PC Defender on her computer. How do I get it off of the screen I went into control panel and and looked in add/remove programs and there is No PC Defender in the The C,Drive. Where do you think it is located so I can remove it ???????????????

Thanks for the info and I will use one thread per issue in the future.I think the hard drive is going bad already.I put another drive in it and it ran fine after the configuration was done and booted properly.The hard drive must not be recognized do to this

The hard drive is about 3 months old almost brand new.that is my take on it too the hard drive is not being recognized.Is there anyway to get the hard drive to be recognized on boot up?

Locked copy is like a corporate copy but you have to have a separate disk to unlock it the cd it is unlimited amount of loads to it. I will have the other cd to unlock the version of windows.That is why I am wondering if the locked version has the drivers to it.I am sure there is going to be...

Well I ended up swapping the two and put the xp disk in the rom and it started to detect new hardware.Then it toke awhile but it finally got itself all straight just by putting the disk in.Now windows in running fine and everything is in order.
