from the looks of it the burnt up peice (from what i can tell, you photos are to fuzzy) is a power regulator. To be honest i think you're screwed, and the only real option you have is to RMA.

EEEK!! If that really is your CPU temp then its WAY to high, even for a Pentium 4. Either your motherboard temp sensors are off or something is wrong with your cooler.

Well if i have to i might be able to fit a Lite-On drive in it (since they are considerably shorter) but, if all else fails i can just use an external drive plus i dont use my optics very often (i "rtually mount" most of my stuff) so it wont be that big of a deal.
