Just so you guys know, gave up already and just bought a $3 Bluetooth dongle and plugged it in the port I don't use (because it's positioned in a way that annoys me when something is there and I'm using a mouse.

Yup did that already. The problem is that my laptop can neither discover my mouse, nor be discovered by my phone. These devices worked previously with my laptop prior to the last Windows 10 update. Although I'd rather keep Win10 than go back to 8.1
