play it safe and call someone like antec and ask if their power supply will work in your dell.
the older dells did require a dell power supply or an adapter. this may not be a issue on newer dells.

go to the gigabyte website and do a search for your motherboard. look for the manual or if you still have it go to page 41 and it will tell you how to get the 1066mhz to work correctly. make sure you only use one stick of ram to start the computer. after adjustments then install the second stick...

you need to check your fan settings in your bios. there should be three settings.
fan is set to run full speed.
fan is set to run at different voltages.
fan is set to run to load on cpu.
right now what you are seeing is the voltage regulator knob you are...
I have been able to just use a usb adapter and it shows as a usb external drive. Look for one of these.
