I had to reset the jumper but now since this has happened I've had to do this about 3-4 times since then and today just moving the jumper didn't work I had to pull the battery out. Does the battery need replaced or is this a sign my motherboard is on its way out?
ugh I can't believe that didn't even cross my mind to reset that, had this thing totally stripped down for it to be a lil jumper haha oh well thanks for all the input people its much appreciated
Since I have two graphic cards I also tried both of those one at a time and still nothing. I did noticed though that if I turn power off at the PSU and switch it back on then my keyboard lights will flash for a second. The computer turns on and stays on but doesn't appear to be doing anything...
sorry I should have been more specific everything turns on fans, lights, I can even hear the DVD drive but I dont hear the hdds and I get no video at all. I did change keyboards to a wired one and it use to flash when I would turn the computer on but that doesn't even do anything now.

So awhile back Id bought a netbook and best buy gave me recovery disks and a driver disk. I put windows 7 on it thinking it would be fast enough but it just creeps along so I want to put vista back on it as it ran pretty well with that. Now my question is can I get vista on it with these...
well i tried a diff hdd in it and still nothing so I'm assuming its the mobo since its the only thing left aside from the graphics but thats an onboard dealeo lol. as far as "speakers" go I don't think that it has anything in the case but it was hooked up to a set before I got my hands on it...
I had a disk but I'v tore everything apart lookin for it and have come up empty handed I still have a key for it but no copy... is there anywhere that I could download it for free? legally lol?
tried resetting the bios again and nothing, took the ram sticks out and tried each one in each slot and nothing, tried booting with no ram at all in and it still did the same thing
changed the psu and that didn't change anything, it doesn't do anything as in the screen stays black and the cpu fan spins and the hdd spins and it does that for about 5 sec then just shuts off
so my friends computer was shut off one night, normally, and the next morning it will start up as in fans spin and I can hear the hdd spin but it will only go for about 5ish seconds then off it goes nothing comes up on screen and no beeps just nothing... anything particular you can think of that...
