The Astronaut is not an alien, and unless the babies are genderless, they must count towards the 400 male and 400 female aliens.

You could argue that the astronaut is the alien, but it technically states that the other 800 creatures are the aliens.

+1, although i wouldnt have thought of this by myself without a few hours to think I hate trying to work out riddles.
