I would suggest trying to get a hold of an external DVD drive and trying to see if you can boot off of the discs...

Wouldnt I need to install software to use it? My husbands brother has one but he said it installs software to use. Will this cause a problem?

No, it shouldn't require software as long as it just plugs into USB.

It would only require software to burn discs; it will use a generic driver.

im having the same problem on a dell mini...should i just take the hard drive out format it from my other computer and start from zero?

this mini someone put two operating systems for some reason f8 doesnt go anywhere..
