The computer in general is pretty slow because it only has a 4200rpm drive. Since I have an extra copy of Win7 64 bit, I thought I could add it on this laptop since Win7 is supposed to be faster than Vista.

I know I won't get any real benefits of it being a 64 bit OS since I only have 2GB ram but I am not sure if I would actually lose performance. I know more ram will be used but do I have any other negative effects beside any software issues with 64 bit systems? Is my laptop able to run a 64 bit Win7 just as well as it currently can with 32 bit Winodws Vista?
