Lenovo Laptop (Win7 Pro 64-bit) failed to acquire correct TCP/IP config from DHCP. When disconnecting and connection back the wifi, it gets IP from the range 192.168 of class C but without DNS. I don't know where it gets this from! After a minute or so it changes it to 169.254. The correct range is neither the former, (and of course) nor the latter. All other LTs and DTs get the correct range including DNS from DHCP. The user complained that while travelling recently and in the hotel, the LT could neither connect to email (Outlook) nor internet.
Nothing looks incorrect within this LT's config. It's all automatic. The DHCP admin says there is nothing wrong at his end and that there is enough pool in the DHCP! He checked the switches also and found nothing.
I connected the LT to the wired network and it got correct config. I disconnected the wire and connected the wifi and it worked this time.
