When I close my Laptop it will lock but it does not go into sleep or hibernate mode.
I only managed to get it to hibernate once since last night.

The only thing I've changed is that Windows media center is in the taskbar.

I'm not sure if this is a vista thing or if it's an issue with my laptop. But it's not powering down like it should when I go into hibernate/sleep mode.

Did you check your Vista laptop power settings to confirm that it is supposed to go to sleep/hibernation when closing the lid?

When going to the start button, if you click the little arrow by the shutdown button, then choose Hibernate or Sleep from there, does it work properly?

It does it now after I messed around with the Windows media center settings.

It started when I decided to sync my laptop with my 360 then last night when I went to put my laptop in sleep mode by closing the lid it wouldn't stay finally I got it until early this morning when my laptop fan going woke me up.

I disabled 3 things for Media center and it works now, the only thing is I can't no matter what I do disable the media center update icon in my task bar.
