I have a certain mouse that I plug into a laptop and it makes a high pitch noise whenever I move the mouse.

The noise is definitely coming from inside the laptop.
I tried a different USB mouse, and I don't get the noise anymore.

Is the mouse defective or could it be a problem inside the laptop?

Yeah, I'm sorry, I was busy when I wrote that post.

My real question was, (Which I forgot to add for some reason),
Why would it make a sound inside the laptop if the mouse was defective?

Don't mean to sound like Captain Obvious, but it's faulty. Any thing is possible.

Most likely the one the USB connections was shorting out.
