Mixing Ram types

Hey guys,
I have a 256mb stick on pc 2700 RAM and i wanna get another 256 mb stick. However i want this new one to be of a higher Ram quality e.g. pc 3200. I have heard rumours that sometimes this doesnt work... Is this true???
And if so what can i do? :P

It does work, just the pc3200 will run at the slower speed of the pc 2700 ram.

yes mixing memory is not a good idea. your system performance will be brought down to the weakest link.

But still if you are using applications that require a lot of RAM. 512 megs of ram running at the weakest link will be faster than 256 megs of 3200 ram.
