9800xt messing with my monitor

I just recently upgraded from a PNY 128 5600 to a ATI radeon 9800xt . After installing I turned the computer on. Before even loading the drivers I was getting this blur or foggy line right down the middle of my screen. I installed the drivers and took the RES up to 1280X768 and you can still see it.

Has anyone heard of this?

The monitors specs allow it to hit 1280X768 with refresh 75.

Could a cheap monitor not be able to handle the XT?

i would try to re asemble everything. But before u do that go over everything and make sure its seated correctly. If not re-seat it. if that dont work re make the computer if you have the o/s still around. any moniter should work with any card just not use it to its potentiol, regardless shouldn't be distored as you have. So its the video card. if you just got it rma the product then wait for a replacement. If you get the second and it is no good the problem maybe with other equitment in ur comp

Could also be that some part of your old drivers are still there. Did you remove them before installing your new cards?
Check under add/remove programs and see if they are still listed there.
