I have a USB wi-fi adapter for my desktop computer and alot of the time a signal is really hard to get because my router is around 30 feet away in another room. How could I increase the signal on my USB wi-fi adapter?

Satelite cone to concentrate the signal on the router. Using foil make a tight cone and aim it at the pc in question it will massive reduce signal from any other direction. You can also buy a new antennae for it. Yes you can overclock wifi adapters intel use to have a utility to do this to there wifi cards I usually used it to save power.

Ok well I can do what you suggested saltynay because the router is right under my dads computer and we theres another one to the side of it. Is there anything I could do to the USB adapter itself?

saltys idea sounds good :) and crazy, but just crazy enough to work. also go to walmart and get a usb extension cable, those arent too much money, shoud be like sub $5.
