Hello to all,
The 3.5mm jack audio socket of my Asus N550JK is broken and I need to replace it. So far I wasn't able to find it on any stores, so I need to find another one that is similar and that could work.
Here my problem. The original one (a really really bad choise by Asus) is a 6 pins footprint socket. It's a combo connector, so what I can count is at most: GND+L+R+Mic+Switch that are 5 pins. What is the 6th pin for? I can see inside the socket (in fact it is completely destroyed) and none of them are connected together.
Do you know any jack socket with 6 pins that I could use?
If I use a 5 pins socket, that maybe is easier to find, could I be sure that it will work? Will all the connections needed be at right position?
Any suggestion, idea or whatever is very appreciated!
Thank you,
Marco
