I have a Nexus 7 w/ Android ver. 4.4.4 running on it right now. First off, I was wondering if there is a way to load a linux-based OS on my tablet, for example, Fedora. Also, and if I were to have a third party OS running instead of Android, then what would happen to my essential Google Apps like Google Play?

Do you have the N7 2012 or 2013 model?

There's guides to put Ubuntu (desktop) and Ubuntu Touch on the Nexus 7 - which model you have though is dependent on which guide to use.

If you loaded a full Linux OS on your tablet, it would replace your Android OS, so you wouldn't have Google Play or any apps. You can possibly choose to dual-boot OS's though...but you'll have much less storage space then.
