I recently got a new home built computer and upgraded to Vista 32 home premium.
My new modem appears (to me) to be displaying odd behavior.
I notice that the modem consistently transmits small bits of data out of my system every few seconds, even when I am not surfing.
I am concerned because my old modem/OS did not do this. When idle, no data went out.
I have up to date anti virus/spyware protection and use Defender along with the malicious software removal tool from Microsoft. I run scans every 2 days. My computer comes up clean, but it still bothers me as to where this micro data is being transmitted to.
Does anybody know what could be causing this?
Could it be a legit process that is running? (there are 59 of them)
Can somebody help me figure this one out? I have never used hijack this before.
Thanks.
