Fresh install OS / Reformat / removing entire virus

I go to safe mode and scan for viruses after i install my os. Is that okay? will it remove every virus in my pc? am i doing it right?

You shouldn't have any viruses/malware after you reinstall Windows. If you have viruses that are persisting after a reinstall, then either you have a rootkit or if you have an external HDD/flash drive/etc. that could be infected.

What are you using to scan with?

Oh. So no need to scan in safe mode after re-installing OS. I currently have an AVG 2014 anti-virus. I just want to make sure that my pc is not infected.

Well, like I said, there shouldn't be any infections on a fresh install after a formatted drive.

BTW, AVG isn't as good as it used to be. If you want a free AV, move over to either Avira, Avast!, or Bitdefender Free.
