Hello all,

I recently upgraded to verizon FIOS and got a new actiontec router model: M424-WR Rev. D. WIndows firewall was disabled when I did this.

I will walk you through the port forwarding process with pictures:

This just shows that the IPv4 address I am using is mine, I did nothing more than check it

so can someone help me figure out what I did wrong? I am trying to open up a port to no avail.. thanks in advance

if you need any additional info, please let me know.

Try going to GRC and use Shields Up. See if that shows the ports as open. Also did you open the ports in the Windows Firewall or what ever firewall you have on? It could be getting stopped there.

oh sorry forgot to add that windows firewall was disabled throughout, I will try the sites and report back. thanks for the fast respone :)

shields up:

Status Protocol and Application

Closed edm-manager
EDM Manger

hmmm no idea what edm-manager means, but the port is definitely closed. Any other suggestions?

EDM seems to be a couple fo things.

Extensive Display Manager
Enterprise Desktop Manager
Electronic Document Manager

So you will have to figure out if it is some software you have installed that is causing this or not.
