Well does the usual method work, i.e. middle-clicking on them?

My thought as well. I use Tab Mix Plus for my tab management.

middle clicking? i didnt know that was the usual way, ive certainly never done that. i dont even have a middle button on my mouse, just left and right.

Trotter this isnt tab management per se this is just opening a link in a new tab. firefox has always been able to do that, from the very first version if i remember correctly.

Middle-click = pushing down on the scroll wheel. If your mouse doesn't have a scroll wheel you are still living in the early 90's and there's not much we can do for that.

While I have the option to right-click for opening in a new tab, middle-clicking is much quicker (one click versus two).
