I have been happy with Gmail. They do a good job of spam filtering. They have pop3 access if you prefer to use a mail client with them.

btw Happy B-Day yesterday.

Thanks Hefemeister! It was my 14th birthday... and how did you know? Did you read one of my posts or did you just look at the "Today's Birthdays" feature?

The only problem I have with Gmail is that it isn't pretty. I know that sounds stupid, but where is all the news that you see on Yahoo!, Hotmail, etc.? I guess it's not really a problem. Time to start using Gmail.

You can use the iGoogle feature for a homepage, you can customize it with different types of news, and also see the first few emails in your inbox.

I use both Yahoo and Gmail. I prefer Yahoo, though. Gmail does a good job of catching most of the spam, but so does Yahoo. Yahoo has more ads on it.

Great. I tried making a new Hotmail account and I get this error...

You've reached the daily limit for creating Windows Live IDs. Please wait a day and try to sign up again or contact support for assistance.
OK Error code: 450 : 0x800482d4 : 2009-06-20T01:59:50 GMT

So I waited... and waited... it's been almost 30 hours. I contacted support, and they still haven't replied yet.

Are you using IE when trying? I am able to create a new account easily. I just created one in under 2 minutes.
