Uploading files on Server

I want to know If I get access to a server in this format (Picture Attached), how can I upload or modify files.

How I come to know whether I have modification access or not? After installing ftp client software I know this?

You would have a user name and password for the site for a starters. Basically what you are accessing is the files used to build the website.

I got such access after entering ftp user name and password, I don't know how to modify files in this format. I've just created a website, I can modify files by entering into file manager from control panel, but the host has also given me ftp user name and password, which I enter and as a result of which I get this type of view in browser. I hope you understand.
