Default Wired, Wifi, VPN help!

Allright, I bought a wireless access point so that my LAN Home Network has the ability to allow my new laptop to access over WiFi. Now, I'd like to be able to use VPN so that whenever I'm at work or in a coffee shop, I can still access my Home Network. Any ideas on how to do this? I'm behind a Fedora Core 2 router running off an dynamic ADSL connection, although I do nave a no-ip.com resolving script on the machine.

Network layout:

ADSL (dynamic IP)
|
| Router (iptables/NAT/DHCP)
|
| Switch
| Computers1-4
| Hub
| Computers5,6, XBOX, WiFi A

Your VPN server device or software can be anywhere on this layout, but you'll need to setup forwarding on the fedora core 2 box.

Any idea what ports need forwarded? Also, what software should I use? Or does Windows XP have something with it already?

windows xp can host a vpn
you need to forward the following:
TCP Port 1723 (PPTP)
UDP Port 500 (L2TP)

If you would like to set it up on windows xp, i would first recommend getting a second network card on the computer hosting the vpn connection. once you have the second card, just goto your network connections and click create a new connection.
for windows 2000, there is an option for 'accept incoming connections' right away, but for xp you have to click 'set up an advanced connection'. then click 'accept incoming connections' > 'allow VP connections' and then select the users you wish to enable (this comes right from your users listed in computer managment). then just use the defaults for the next two pages and you're set. (unless you wish to tinker with security a little.....which you may want to think about)
