Maintaining Small Network

Well it's been a while since I posted here! I have just started a job working full time as IT for a charity. In the office I work in there's 9 computers and I'm wondering what sort of things I can do to them on a monthly or weekly basis to keep them running up to speed? For instance they can take a while to log in, They are all relatively decent machines, core i3, 4GB RAM etc but any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I'm assuming they aren't using SSDs. Just remove startup programs and keep background tasks to a minimum. Of course make sure they're clean too.

Weekly Windows patches/3rd party software updates are 2 big ones besides what PP mentioned.

That's usually what I did when I interned at a John Deere retailer as their IT guy for a summer. They still want me to come back lol.
