i think that "why" is a question that should rarely be asked. so, how about "what" exactly would you like to access on the admin computer?

Im sure this is a very legitmit question. Obviously he was probably asked to be the admin for the local mom and pop coffe shop. For shame accusing this honorbale person for trying to help... lol

First off you need the admin passwords for the machines you wanna connect to. If you dont have that you wont be able to do a lot of stuff unless your really good so I am expaning how to audit passwords. Besides its fun to goto your friends house and jack all his passwords because you threw a thumb drive with an auto run bat file, you need to do just to see their face because they realize how insecure they really are. You could ask mom and pop or... learn how to use LC5, SAMinside, pwdump2, or john the ripper to get the paswords. There are many many more but I will teach you with pwdump2 and john the ripper. Download pwdump2 and john the ripper. Put those files on a thumb drive and boot the computer into command prompt (aka no windows) You can do this in windows as well by opening up command prompt but im not sure if you need to admin rights already to grab what you need so it might not work in in windows (i know i cant run saminside w/o admin rights) Goto the folder with pwdump2 in CMD. Type in "pwdump2 > crack.txt". What you just did is copied the hash files of the passwords. There has to be a way the computer can check to make sure you have the right password when you type it in so it saves it on your PC as a hash. A hash takes plain text, encrypts, and then scrambles it. Go home and drag the crack.txt file into the main folder of john the ripper. Get back in cmd get to the main folder of john the ripper and type "john crack.txt" Now you get to wait for john to crack the password. You might just wanna start this up at night so your not checking it every 15 minutes. It will take a few hours usually. You can check the status by pressing enter. Once its done it will tell you all the users names and passwords! So dont think you can protect yourself with a flimsy windows passwords there extremly easy to crack!!!

From here you can take a lot of roads. Look up net use (a cmd command) for some fun. "net use \\ipaddress\ipc$ password /user:administrator" gets you in " net use x: \\ipaddress\C$" this will map their C drive to your X drive altho you might need to type in the pass and user name if they arnt sharing it. There is so much you can do. Look up how to remotly install VNC. With VNC you can see their screen as if it were your own. You can use their mouse from your computer. With VNC you can remotly fix their computer... What you might wanna do is just install VNC on their computer and then use a VNC viewer on your PC this will do the everything you want.. only easy. (then you port forward that computers VNC over the router and you can access the PC from home) Remember that you can allways be tracked online no matter how safe you are so dont be an idiot and be maliciouse if you do you will be caught.

Dont flame me because its a very thin line between black and white hat and you need to walk this line to be able to do a good job at being a network administrator!

"obviously he was probably asked"??? what makes you so sure? i try to assume nothing unless i'm told to assume something.

you may know this person, thats fine. but if you wish to provide a member of this forum with instructions on how to access a computer without authority, then send the member a message. do not post a reply on here with that sort of material.
the reason why i was asking so many questions was because we try to maintain a certain integrity level of this forum. i assume nothing from the gate, so it may take a little bit of a process to get what the member wants in a vague post or request.

this forum doesn't promote hacks and/or warez.

Let's imagine a hypothetical situation:

Someone logs onto Tech-Forums tomorrow. Let's say this person is of the devious assortment. They go to the search button at the top of the front page and type something about getting passwords. They might come accross this thread and find a few ways to get such passwords from your post.

Don't believe me? Check this.

Now I dont mean to insult you, I just wanted to give you a different perspective

"i try to assume nothing unless i'm told to assume something. " lol you assumed he didnt have permission! BS you assumed against him. The reason I said that was you guys assumed he wasnt and i think that the info should be made available... do i think he was asked, no but i dont care. That info has helped me in many situations and I wouldnt be able to HELP a lot of problems if i didnt know how to audit passwords. If he does something stupid with it he will screw himself over but thats his problem. The techs at the cafe know this type of stuff so the (probably) monitor the network so they know who does what when. (aka dont be stupid you will be caught) Should we hide all sensitive material? Could you be a good network admin without knowing this stuff?
