I currently host my own webserver from home as well as a game server which using strict ports. Some of the game server ports are projected strictly at my public ip and cannot be accessed at all from local ips so If I try go to http://publicip/ i get my modems login page as appose to my website however if I go to http://local_IP_ofcomputerwhichhasport80forwarded then i can see it. Port 80 isn't a big deal for me but the game server ports i need to be able to access from home for testing purposes. I (think) you can do this with a loopback adapter but Im not 100% sure how that would work since the computer I am using isn't the hosting computer.

If you need to me to further clarify on what I am asking then please let me know.
Any help would be much appreciated.

The loopback adapter isn't going to do anything for you.

Are you unable to connect to your game server ports through the public IP? I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to do or what your network looks like. Is everything on the same LAN?

Yes ports are forwarded.
Website and gameserver is accessible outside my local network.
I want to be able to access the gameserver/website ports which are projected to my public IP not my local IP. If I type http://publicip/ from home I get my modems login page, similar thing would happen with the gameserver as the ports are projected to my pubic ip.

so basically when im at home and I go to http://publicip/ i get my modem login page but when i am outside of my local network i can access the webserver/gameserver. So when I am at home (on the same network as my webserver) I want to be able to see my website from http://publicip instead of http://localip is this possible?

Have you tried putting in *.*.*.*: port#here ? I've always used a colon to get to my ports whether public or local. Like 192.168.1.100:2560 (obviously local address for example)

Sounds like you need to forward your ports and disable remote admin for your modem.

This, or change the port of the remote admin for the modem (if this is an option), or pick a different port for your webserver/gameserver since port 80 is already being used for your modem.
