Can I get rid of Novell without admin rights or at least forge admin rights?

I just got a hard drive from an old laptop at my school and put it in my own laptop without thinking of how to get rid of novell. I have no way of getting the admin password. I would prefer not having to nuke the hdd because I have used dban with other drives and I haven't had great experiences with it. I really just want to get admin rights so I can either reformat the hdd or just uninstall and delete Novell itself. But if anybody has any sort of solution that would be great!

Why would you use dban when you could just use the Win Cd to repartition/format the drive?

Dban has nothing to do with this drive. That was with an old drive that had a virus I shouldn't have even mentioned it. But I did try using the backup disc with this drive and it gave me an error. I do have another disc though that I will try. I thought it would be nice to just be able to remove Novell while still keeping the anti-virus and a few other programs.

You can try using the Hiren's BootCD to reset the password or unlock it with it's utilities.

Thanks for the tip but my other windows disk worked so I just decided to reformat it.
