Default smp cripples connection :\

Starting to get a bit on my nerves, whenever my SMP client finishes a WU and it uploading the unit and then downloading a new one it cripples my net to the point IM's will disconnect and i can't load anything on the internet for like half an hour. Is there anyway to prevent this? If not I'm going to stop folding, because it's not worth all the annoyances :\

Maybe not 30..but after 15 i closed the client because nothing would connect. Maybe it's just a hiccup.....

SMP work units are big files so if you have a pretty slow upload speed it would take a while.

I'm running 3 uni-processor, 3 smp and 1 GPU client on 8Mb/s and there's barely a flicker on the firewall's traffic graph.
