..... If I could I would destroy Xmass day........ It's just something that deals with religion that no longer has a religious meaning to most people.

Instead of destroying it, how about making more folks realize why it exists?

Posted by: charles_scott

Because no one will listen? And besides in another 10 years people would forget again. Better to not have it recognized by the goverment and for it to just be a normal day and for people to participate if they want.

Even if only one person listens, you made progress. I'm sure at least somebody will. ;)

Or...it has gone beyond the religious bounds and has become a time of the year that everyone can get together and celebrate whatever?

Posted by: Nubius
Or...it has gone beyond the religious bounds and has become a time of the year that everyone can get together and celebrate whatever?
Pretty much....regardless if no one thinks of it as 'jesus day' or something, as long as people don't consider it 'PRESENTS DAY!' then it's aright.

I figure if people realize it's a time of year to get together with family, share "LOVE" and all that stuff together and be happy and thankful for once out of only a few times out of the year, then the message is still there.

I am going to mount a gun turret on top of my house. And there is going to be sign next to it saying "RAINDEER SEASON!"

I just hate the christmas commercialism.

Posted by: charles_scott

Hmm, well tell that to the younger people, seems there only worried about what there getting and what there going to get there friends and things of the such.

Posted by: GameGURU

Well sure, it is pretty sad how it has become the epitomized moment in the year for capitalism...

Oh well, I don't pay much attention to the commercial aspect as much as I do my traditions and the feelings.
Hmm, well tell that to the younger people, seems there only worried about what there getting and what there going to get there friends and things of the such.
Kids dont understand religion and the religious meaning behind Christmas so you cant really use that against the day. You need to look at the adults and older teenagers that DO understand and then make a statement like that. If the adults and older "kids" dont understand the meaning and only look at it as a **** gift day or a day where your forced to buy somebody something then its gone to far and the real meaning behind it has to be brought back out.

Posted by: charles_scott

The younger ones im talking about are 16-18 around my age.... All they care about is the gifts and what there going to be doing, I haven't heard a single Merry Christmass this year or last year.

Posted by: toxicity_27

I always wish people Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, etc. I don't get anyone gifts mainly because I can't afford to, so I make them some crappy card, but they know that it came from me and they don't care that they don't get anything awesomely expensive or some new gadget. Heck, this Christmas I really could care less what I get, it's just going to be nice to be home with my friends, and get away from studying all the time.

Posted by: Flanker

Why you guys bashing on Christmas. I'm not Christian but I still celebrate it (not with a tree and stuff, but you get the idea). Its just a nice time of year where everything is simply...nicer. Why wouldn't you like that.

Posted by: P.P. Mguire

Were not bashing it. Were bashing the ppl that only celebrate it for gifts and not for what its meant to be celebrated for.

What what is christmas suppose to be celibrated for?
BTW, I am Buddist.

Due to my change in religion (Used to be a God Fearing Christain), I celibrate christmas as time of giving and being thankful toward other people for what they have done for me over the past 12 months.

I really don't like it how the media makes christmas out to be a the time just for gifts.

And what really shits me the most (special thanks to our Australia goverment letting in Refos from the middle east by the container load) is the number of middle easter people with a voice in the media complaining about they get offended by the baby jesus displays that are in shopping centers and other public locations.
Like i not longer beleive in God and Jesus because I am buddist. However I am going to at least respect the regilous magority of this country.
Like this is the 3rd year in a row that I have noticed this happening.
I got the following thing to say to all those middle easterns immagrants with that attitude....
"If you don't like it, GO BACK HOME TO YOUR OWN COUNTRY!"

Posted by: charles_scott

That's how it is here. Walmart had a problem a few weeks ago with an Email and the Catholic church put a boycot on walmart stores all over the world. And I can't go a single day with out hearing about people *****ing about others saying happy xmass or happy holidays.

Posted by: gimli of gloin

its hard to be a jew on christmas

Posted by: P.P. Mguire
What what is christmas suppose to be celibrated for?
The birth of Jesus Christ.

Posted by: H4x3r

^^ amen brother...thats what Christmas is all about...and if i didn't get a single gift this year...i wouldn't care a bit..because people have twisted Christmas into the biggest selling advertisement...and they have forgotten the real meaning of Christmas....i mean...i just got done with my church's christmas play ( i was lights director) and it's all about relizing the true meaning of Christmas...which of course is the birth of Jesus Christ...btw..i'm Baptist and not afraid to admit it, so go ahead and flame away if you want, i won't give a hoot :D

Posted by: P.P. Mguire

That would be sad to get flamed for your religion.

Posted by: Nubius

because in this day in age people gotta bltch about something, if it's not religion, it's racism, if it's not racism, it's violence that's apparently made your kid kill cause it couldn't POSSIBLY have been the parents or upbringing, if it's not that, it's music.

Progressed from merry christmas, to merry christmas and happy hanukah, to then all of a sudden merry christmas, happy hanukah, and for the 7 people in the entire fukking US, 'happy kwanza'.......people STILL ***** so you just gotta say happy holidays, but it won't even stop there.

"I find those christmas lights disrespectful to my culture and religion....it's like your flaunting yours" or something stupid like that.

I freakin hate people. I still say a comet the size of jupiter just needs to hit earth...we as humans have fukked up way too much...maybe I'm just being pessimistic and cynacle and all that crap, but for christs sake theres just so much stupid bltching going on at all times for the dumbest crap it's just ridiculous

Posted by: The Kraut

I agree with Nubius completly. I think people should be happy for what they beleive in and respect the fact that others might beleive in something else. What really annoys me is about the "under God" line in the pledge of alliegence. Nowhere does it say that you have to say it all. It just really annoys me when others try to force their opioins and views on me and others with no respect. Im getting off my soap box now...

Posted by: P.P. Mguire

Well what ppl dont realize is that the U.S. was made for freedom of religion. So i dont think ppl should ***** at all or others be forced (like stores and such) to take down stuff cause some f*ck head wants to complain about ****. I pass a church every **** day to go to school thats not my religion. Do i b*tch about it cause they have something different than my Christmas tree? **** no i dont cause its their freedom to do as they **** well please. Ppl in this country need to stop b*tching about what others do (especialy in public) cause they have the freedom to do it just as much as you have the freedom to b*itch about. THey also have the freedom to say go to **** and do as they f*cking please! Gets on my nerves i tell you and im not religious.

:D

Posted by: Flanker

ROFL! That made me laugh out loud.

I think Christmas is a lot about the presents, not to mention Santa Clause for the kids. How about, for christmas, we stop hating it and celebrate is by sitting by the fireplace or something and having a nice cup of cocoa with our friends and family. Some of us could use that.

Thats coming from a non-Christian.

LOL!!! Funny ****!

****!!! I just went out for a smoke out side just then, and I noticed that some one just put lights out side of their house.
Absolutely spoils the mood the street I live on being the "BAH-HUMBUG STREET" that it is every other year.

I might steal his lights if I am awake later on tonight.
What really annoys me is about the "under God" line in the pledge of alliegence.
well...doesn't mean it's 'the christian god'.....could be whatever god you wanted...if you don't believe in a god period, then ****, don't know what to tell you besides just possibly don't say that line.....it's been sought after for freakin YEARS now from athiests and crap like that to have it removed, but that and the 'in god we trust' on our money will most likely never disappear.

it is kind of presumptions to say 'one nation, under god'........as if god has anything to do with a single nation or even gives a flying fukk....just like every religious war that's ever happened. "GOD IS WITH US!!"

Yeaaaaah, cause I'm sure assuming there is a god, he's really going to pick one small portion of mankind and side with them cause he's a sadistic ******* like that who enjoys watching us fight.
I think Christmas is a lot about the presents, not to mention Santa Clause for the kids.
yeah but technically it shouldn't be....Santa Clause was invented for those kids who were poor and basically giving up on hope like oliver twist lol.....but now-a-days it's just been blown out of proportion for companies and toy makers to make cash.

Just like mothers day, valentines day, fathers day...all that crap is technically garbage made up by card companies for $$$$$

gotta love it.

Posted by: Harper

Santa Clause does give the grown ups one blessing.
Instant Hyper Active Kid Control.

You just say some thing like "You keep that up, and Santa is not coming" and you can get just about any kid under the age of 10 to shut up.

Posted by: P.P. Mguire

I stopped believing in Santa when i was 8 and my parents hated me for it. I always thouht it was funny to mess w/ the other kids by saying "Santa isnt real suckers so get over it!!". Man they would be ****ed. :D

Posted by: H4x3r

^^^ hahaha

Posted by: Nubius

I found it funny how santa clause used the same vis-a-vis marker that was 2 feet from the presents each and every year and his handwriting looked an awful like the presents that said 'From: Mom' that also used that marker lol
