11-8-2009: Sorry for the inconvenience. We finally upgraded to vBulletin 3 !! See you there, Larry kernel32.dll backdoor.trojanGo to the Tech-Forums Discussion Home PagePosted by: dontknownotin how to i get rid of this trojan without reformattin? Posted by: DMo224 Do you have Norton AV? If so, you can shutdown all unnecessary programs running on your pc, run NAV and let Norton quarantine the infected file. Replace the infected file with a new kernel32.dll. If no AV, you can download a new copy of your kernel32.dll. Rename the infected file (to something to delete later), place the new .dll file in the proper folder, and delete the old, infected file. I think I learned that here at Tech. There might be other ways to accomplish getting rid of it without formatting. :) Posted by: dontknownotin norton did quarantine the infected file it wasnt the .dll is just said kernel with the MS dos logo. where do i go to locate the quarantine files that norton AV quarantines? and do i still need to replace that .dll? Posted by: DMo224 With Norton AV, go to the NAV cp and the quarantined files will be listed under reports. For Norton SystemWorks, click Norton Anti Virus button, then click View Reports beside Quarantined Items icon. The list will show you all quarantined items. IMO, you should still replace the .dll file. :) Please Visit the Online Configurator, Email Hosting, Internet Marketing , Computer Schools , Software for Real Estate , AAOutlook , Search Engine Site |
