Sony VAIO DVD creator?

Well as some may already know I'm still new to computers. I am working with a Sony VAIO w/CD/DVD burner 60GB HD, 512Megs of RAM, Gigapocket & Pico Player. Has anyone else used this system? I'm looking for a tutorial to burn DVD's and have not yet located one with the system. I'm not saying it's not there. I'm not much on reading. If any one has used this system or can give me some tips on the usage please help. I have videos on VHS that I would like to edit to DVD.

Also, is there a way to run a stereo signal to the computer to record audio? I have not looked into the system to see if there is a recorder software. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help.
