My volume control keeps turning itself down

i recently installed a Belkin KVM and now my volume control just turns itself down. The KVM doesnt have an audio jack though. I'm running XP, anyone have any ideas. i'm gonna take the KVM back justincase but other than that?

This is also happening to me when I dock my laptop! Cannot find any info on how to stop this!!
